Note #128: Winding down (2019.5.30)

As the month of May rapidly draws to a close, we are nearing the end of yet another semester as well. It’s been a good semester, and I’m happy with how both of my classes turned out.

I’ve been extremely busy for most of the month writing a paper, and as a result I haven’t had as much time to write here as I had hoped. I do have a very belated review of Avengers: Endgame in the works, which I hope to finish up now that my schedule has returned to some semblance of normalcy.

Not that things are necessarily going to be leisurely over the next few weeks. The final two weeks of classes shouldn’t be too bad, but as the semester comes to an end there are a lot of meetings and other things going on that will keep me busy. I will have two weeks after the end of the semester—more or less until the end of June—to do all my grading, but I will also be preparing for a conference I have on the 5th of July. More importantly, the day after that we will be leaving for Europe for a little over three weeks; I have another conference in Portugal at the end of July, and we decided to do a little traveling in Europe before that, starting with a visit to HJ’s aunt and uncle in Switzerland and heading down through France and Spain before ending up in Lisbon.

So I’m glad to have put that paper behind me, but there is still a lot on my plate, and it is going to be a busy summer. I do hope to get the Endgame review out soon, followed by something else I’ve been working on for a very long time. None of that is happening today, though. Today is just a very short reminder that, yes, I am still alive!
