Note #34: Yeah, me too (2009.2.2)
This past weekend my wife and I went out for dinner at a barbecue place near Kyung Hee University. There is not a very large selection of decent restaurants in front of HUFS, so Hyunjin decided to search around online and see if she could find anything interesting nearby. We arrived at around half past six, I think, and we were told that we would have to wait a half an hour. We decided to wait, and ended up waiting for a full hour, by which time I was about ready to pass out.
We did eventually get in, though, and we got a small table and ordered lots of meat (and other things like intestines) that we cooked on a small grill at said small table. It was good and cheap, but very cramped, filled with smoke despite the ventilation, and extremely noisy. I was still nursing a bit of a hangover from some very strong Chinese alcohol I had consumed the night before, so the downsides to the place seemed magnified. It was still a good meal, but I was glad to get out of there and get home.
But that’s not the point of today’s quick note. While we were waiting for a table, we wandered around the immediate neighborhood. Even though it’s been fairly warm lately, we had spent most of the afternoon outside and were starting to get chilled, so we spent a lot of time popping in and out of various stores. We were in one clothing store when I turned around and saw something that made me laugh aloud. Fortunately, I had my camera with me. To be discreet, I turned off the flash, balanced it on a shelf, and took the following picture that I wanted to share with you.
Somehow I managed to resist the temptation to buy it.
