I thought long and hard about what I was going to call this gallery. I knew that I would have both insects and spiders (arachnids), so I couldn’t just call it “Insects.” I went through a number of possibilities (“Bugs,” “Crawlers and Flyers,” “Insects and Spiders,” etc.) before finally setting on the phylum that includes them both. The phylum Arthropoda actually includes more than just insects and arachnids, so if I ever snap any pictures of crustaceans, centipedes, or millipedes, I’ll have a place to put them.
