There are two types of butterflies around at this time of year: the white ones (which I now know are called “Cabbage Whites”) and these yellow ones. I chased this guy around the house for about ten or fifteen minutes before he finally got tired and landed here. He must have thought he blended in with the leaves, because once he landed he didn’t move for another ten minutes at least. Which was fine by me, of course.
After further research I'm going to make an educated guess and say that this is a Clouded Sulphur (Colias philodice). I could be completely wrong, of course—my original guess for the Cabbage White wasn't even the same genus. If anyone happens to know if I am right or wrong on this one, drop me a line.
