This is a “tiger butterfly” in a patch of garden zinnias. They are called tiger butterflies in Korean (horangnabi), but this term covers a wide variety of different species. The definition in Korean-English dictionaries reads, “large spotted butterflies,” which is kind of like trying to distinguish between members of the Elephantidae family by calling one a "large gray elephant."
