Thailand, Part 4: Chiang Mai
This is me about to get off the elephant after an hour-long ride. The smile on my face comes from the relief of having survived the adventure—no matter how sturdy that seat may look, it requires a consistent, concerted effort to stay in it. Nerve-wracking as it was, though, the ride was a lot of fun. It’s hard to appreciate an elephant’s strength until you’ve actually ridden atop one. It feels like being on top of a moving house.
