Thailand, Part 4: Chiang Mai
The last part of our trek was the easiest—a ride downriver on a bamboo raft. Because there were nine people in our group, we split up into three groups of three. Two people rode in the center of the raft, while the third person stood in the back and tried to help with an extra pole. Tai, a really nice Vietnamese-Australian guy, was the odd man out in our group, and so had the honor of being the rear poleman. You can see him in this picture desperately trying not to fall off the raft, and somehow he succeeded in this. I must say I was quite impressed.
