Flowers (and Their Friends)

Two irises growing in front of my wife's parents' house. In Korean, they are called butggot, which doesn't sound as nearly as bad as it looks, and means “brush flower.” Apparently, the flowers are so named because they resemble writing brushes. Right before blossoming, the green buds are tipped with the dark, inky, blue, and do indeed resemble brushes.
