The Mud Flats of Gungpyeong-ri
This is called a jangseung. It is a guardian spirit pole erected to ward off evil spirits, and its location is a very ironic blend of traditional beliefs and modern reality (you can see the two jangseung in the background of the “Two sisters” photo, standing right next to the gate in the fence).
