Here I am at the beginning of the path, sometimes called the “miracle of Moses” because of its resemblance to a path through the sea. It is quite an amazing thing to see at first, but after examining the phenomenon I came up with a theory: the path is where the water runs out at low tide, packing down the mud into a hardened path. The rest of the mud doesn’t get packed down, and so we’re left with a single path. At absolute low tide you can see that the path splits into several different paths as the water begins to run off in a less orderly fashion.
