Gyeongju

My wife and I went down to the southern Korean city of Gyeongju in early October. I had translated an article on the World Culture Expo being held there, and we decided to go check it out.

The Expo itself turned out to be somewhat disappointing, but fortunately there are other things to do and see in Gyeongju. We visited Mt. Namsan and Mt. Tohamsan, the latter of which is home to Seokguram Grotto and Bulguksa Temple. We also saw some of the other relics in Gyeongju dating back to when it was the capital of the Silla Kingdom.

I also wrote a journal entry to go along with these pictures—you can read that for more background information, and for my thoughts on the Expo.
