Gyeongju

We set out early in the morning for Seokguram Grotto on Mt. Tohamsan to see the sunrise. We got there about twenty minutes early, but there was already a crowd of people waiting. We managed to squeeze down to the front and find ourselves a spot. There were murmured fears that the sun would be hidden behind the clouds, but we got lucky.

Note: Until now, all my pictures have had a width:height ratio of either 3:4 or 4:3. I did not feel that 3:4 would do justice to this shot, though, so I abandoned 3:4 in favor of 1:2. This may cause the content area to grow wider to accommodate the photo, but I’d rather have that than have to chop off the sides of this one. I followed the same convention with the last pic in this series, as well (you’ll see why when you get to it).
