Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon
The area where the southern walls of the fortress once stood near the south gate is now occupied by a number of traditional markets. This is actually a newer market, something that wasn’t here the first time we visited. It was after noon by this point, and we decided to stop in the area for lunch. Being a holiday, many places were not open, but we did find a Japanese pork cutlet (donggaseu, or tonkatsu in Japanese) place that was open.
