Just because we were camping didn’t mean we had to go without good food. This is a strawberry rhubarb pie that Dad made and baked in the Dutch oven—which is really just that big cast iron pot the pie is sitting in. You close the lid and then cover the oven with coals and hours later you have pie. And boy was it good pie. I can still remember how good it was. We slaughtered the poor thing in no time at all.
