Osan-ri: Spring
This is a rice field near the entrance to our village. Rice cultivation is unique in that the rice is not planted directly into the ground. Instead, the shoots are grown separately and then transplanted in flooded paddies around the beginning or middle of May. This transplanting is called monaegi in Korean.
