A Red Devil Story
This was one of the many electric screens scattered around the area. At the rear of the stage (above) was a projection screen, and there were two electric screens to either side, so I took turns watching both of them. Unfortunately, that huge stack of speakers obscured the leftmost portion of the projection screen, so I spent most of the time watching the electric screen seen here.
“Speed 011” is a cell phone company, and they were the official sponsors of the Red Devils. Before the tournament got underway I was intrigued by their decision to support a cheering squad, but after I saw the Red Devils in action, I realized that it was a very smart business decision. Anyway, the downside for us was that we had to sit through the same Speed 011 commercials blasted over and over at inhuman volumes. Of course, it ended up being nothing compared to the noise of the crowd once the match started.
