2010 Seoul World Lantern Festival

I took this photo beneath the first bridge that runs over Cheonggyecheon. It should give you an idea of how the lanterns were set up along the stream. The only reason this photo is in the gallery, though, is because the large wheel-like lantern in the foreground on the left burned down a couple days after we visited, so I thought I would include at least one photo of it. News reports said that police had not determined why the lantern burned down, but... well, I mean, you’ve got large paper structures filled with electric lights. I’m guessing there was a short or some other electrical fault.
