This is Nakamise Street, lined with all sorts of shops. We bought several presents for my family here, not necessarily because this is the best place to buy them, but because it was our last day and we had done no gift shopping.
If you follow this street all the way down you arrive at Sensoji. The structure overhead supports screens that slide out in case of rain. It just so happened to rain while we were here, so we got to see the screens in action. This photo was taken long after that, after the rain had stopped.
