Wando & Jeonju Trip: 2005

This is, of course, the reason why we decided to stop in Jeonju: bibimbap (mixed rice). I don’t remember how many different ingredients go into Jeonju bibimbap, but there are a lot. Just to name a few that you can see here, we have radish sprouts on the top, an egg yolk, beef sashimi (yukhoe—the red stuff beneath the egg yolk), carrots, eggs, cucumbers, squash, pine nuts, ginko nuts, mushrooms, a variety of different greens, pickled radish, sesame seeds, dried seaweed, some sort of jelly... and that’s just what I can see here. Yes, it’s very good, and yes, it is reason enough in itself to visit Jeonju.
