U.S. Trip, 2003-2004, West Coast
This was taken inside our hotel, the Venetian. Yes, there is an actual canal inside the hotel, complete with gondolas and gondoliers (like the guy in the lower left corner). This canal runs through the hotel and into a lagoon outside. The big difference between this Venice and the real Venice (the obvious differences aside) is that the roads are laid out around the canals in the real Venice, whereas here the canal is laid out to accommodate pedestrian traffic.
